Top floor, dilapidated floors of an old house, lack of square meters for a family of five. In this apartment, the designers of Buro 19.23 managed to overcome all difficulties without compromising their beauty.

In the apartment, all family meetings are held at the arch - and this is not a joke. In the large room right next to the table in the niche there is a sofa with an original canopy in the shape of an elegant arch. “We invented it ourselves,” says designer Dmitry Antyushin from Buro 19.23. - The sofa is actually a center of attraction for everyone. The seats are wide and very comfortable. And this is actually the main room in the apartment, it was decided to abandon the living room in favor of a separate bedroom for my grandmother. ”

The apartment is located in a Stalin-era building on Zemlyanoy Val, an area of ??85 square meters. m. Layout - a classic version of the "baby undershirt". “There is a corridor and a bathroom on the central axis,” says Dmitry's partner designer Irina Sinelnikova. On the right are two rooms: a dining room combined with a kitchen, and a guest bedroom, where grandmother just settled in. On the left there is a bedroom with a bathroom and a children’s room.

“The dilapidated floors of the old house, the top floor, the attic, became an important problem for us,” says Dmitry. - At some point, the scope of work expanded so much that it seemed like we were building a house, not designing an apartment. I had to delve into all the technical nuances to create a modern interior in the old building. ”

Almost all the furniture in this apartment, with the exception of chairs purchased at auction in Europe, is custom-made. In addition to the arched sofa, the designers designed wardrobes, a dining table with stone countertops, doors, bed-houses with built-in drawers for the nursery. “They stand symmetrically, one house opposite the other. So children can come to visit each other, ”says Irina.

In the decoration, the designers used wood, tiles and their favorite terrazzo. “We always liked this material, which at some point became very fashionable,” says Dmitry. - Finally, we got a chance to use it in different rooms. In this project, the terrazzo made excellent friends with blue tiles, American walnut parquet and black moldings. ”

“We dismissed all the template moves and did not even hang chandeliers”
Having carefully studied the decor of the rooms, you realize that the apartment does not have a single chandelier. “This was done deliberately at the request of customers,” says Dmitry. “We immediately dismissed all the template moves, and the light was also mainly designed by ourselves.” But the main surprise awaits you in the bedroom. “In fact, we hid a whole room in the closet,” says Dmitry. - You open the door, and there is a passage to the bathroom.
